Jays close to adding Eckstein?

According to (among other things) http://toronto.bluejays.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20071213&content_id=2324652&vkey=news_t or&fext=.jsp&c_id=tor, the jays are close to a deal with Eckstein. No terms given.

Star-divide

Obviously David X would replace the PMoD as starting shortstop. Well, unless some kind of Royce Clayton thing happened. If we add X, does that mean we're done with Sparky?

Apparently it's a done deal
Also, we don't give up a draft pick because the Cards didn't offer him arbitration.
So will PMoD remain Doc's personal shortstop?

Not a bad pickup
I like his spark and fire.  Not all that expensive, but where does it leave Scutaro?

Insurance at third?
More like, where does it leave Adams?

Nice deal!
Considering the contract given to Eckstein this was much better than what we could've hoped for. Most of thought he would've been a pricey acquisition.

Our defense will be amazing if Glaus was subbed out in late game situations.
