Raul Ibanez
I agree with everything in this post from Amazin' Avenue and can't see why the Jays were interested in this guy.

for the Jays
if they had acquired Ibanez during last season when they were trying to, they wouldn’tve had to give up picks. In fact, they could have gotten picks when he left, which would’ve been nice. Also, we can play him at DH, so we at least save the benefit of his lousy D. Just a couple of reasons he might be more appealing to the Jays. I do hope we stay far, far away from him on the free agent market.
I thought the quote about how he’s in better shape than many 25 year olds was funny. Surely he is, just not better than a lot of 25-year old professional baseball players.

I have no problem
with Ibanez at DH…

Neither do I in the abstract
but since he’d cost a draft pick I’d prefer Giambi, whose time missed means he isn’t even type B.

what about Bradley?
he will likely cost less than Giambi per year and might be better, but is a Type B

We don't lose a draft pick for type Bs anymore, so that's fine too
in fact, better if he stays healthy.
