Great Baseball Movies
Paul Molitor, to no one's surprise I'm sure, won the DH poll. Dave Winfield came in second and to much derision Matt Stairs got a few votes.
Since I'm not ready to start the pitchers polls I thought we'd have a time out and have a pool on people's favorite baseball movies. Movies and baseball are favorites of mine so if you put the two together I'm a happy camper....generally. There have been a lot of good baseball movies, more bad ones but that's a poll for a different week. I'm not going to include any movies where friggin' animals play the game, so if your favorite baseball movie includes dogs or monkeys or any other animals.....well...we don't want your vote.
As always if you vote 'other' use the comments area to let us know which. And can use the comments area to champion your favorite.

I asked this question back at the beginning of the year.
You might’ve mentioned the Sandlot, which is a favorite of many. But the answer, haha, is Eight Men Out

No love for Mr. 3000?
Good.

You missed Little Big League and Rookie of the Year
The latter ignores the existence of the draft, while the former ignores inheritance taxes. (Let’s assume the other owners don’t veto a 12yo being an owner.) And are those ESPN mini-series too long to count?

I haven't seen For the Love of the Game...
I guess I should. The Rookie I didn’t like much but likely should have put both of them on the list.

Bang the Drum Slowly
haven’t seen it in YEARS but still gets my vote.
Tommy Lee Jones was created to play Cobb and I have fondness for both Bull Durham and 8 Men Out, but Bang the Drum Slowly gets my vote, Gentlemen.

he was a perfect Cobb.....
Makes you feel he’d be a creep in real life too. I’ll add those three mentioned to the poll.

well
we got most of the best player polls wrong, why should the best movie poll be any different?

I don't have the affection for Field of Dreams that other people do
I like the book a lot more, maybe because Kevin Costner wasn’t in the book. The writer WP Kinsella is from Alberta, I met him once. He has a similar story to Steven King, he was hit by a car when he was out taking a walk one day. After recovering he couldn’t concentrate for long enough periods of time to write, though I believe he is better now.

I also liked the book a lot better
though all of his other books are basically too similar to that one, at least, those that I’ve read
