Game Thread for Game 145 Jays at White Sox
Toronto Blue Jays at Chicago White Sox, Sep 10, 2008 8:11 PM EDT
Jays have a shot at tying their franchise record for longest win streak behind Doc (18-9, 2.64). White Sox have Mark Buehrle (12-11, 3.98) starting, we've had problems all season against LH starters, but then we've been beating everyone lately. I'd never bet against Doc.
Beyond the Box Score has an little bit of analysis about Doc and Cliff Lee and the Cy Young. Very pro Doc which is why I like it. A couple more wins would help his case. Yankees lost to the Angles this afternoon so we are 2.5 games ahead of them and just 1 game back of the Twins.
Game time is 8:00 Eastern tonight, so join us in the game thread tonight. Go Jays.

fluky double play erases that
Bautista with a sharp grounder right to first base, force out and Scooter out in the run-down
no
word is the new scores come out every week at midnight Wednesday (ie Tuesday night). Nothing this morning, so I guess I have to wait until next week.
ya, a little
they say it can take up to six weeks, and it’s only been two by now. But a bunch of people in my class found out in about two weeks, so I thought I might hear back today. I bet I get the score next week.
Not a good pickoff throw from Doc there
"He almost has to start. Do you believe in miracles?"
Doc's not on top of his breaking stuff yet
"He almost has to start. Do you believe in miracles?"
And they're laying off it as a result
"He almost has to start. Do you believe in miracles?"
Doc gives up 2
Soem battling back to do against Buehrle, who we traditionally beat through outpitching.
"He almost has to start. Do you believe in miracles?"
yeah 3/4 season at SS when we got him
played third for a season then was traded half way thru the next season
Whole lot of nothing for both sides since the first
"He almost has to start. Do you believe in miracles?"
Almost the double play
but Bautista can’t stretch for it
"He almost has to start. Do you believe in miracles?"
Overbay gets it
"He almost has to start. Do you believe in miracles?"
Bautista wasn't fully stretched out
and knocked it off his glove while still moving
"He almost has to start. Do you believe in miracles?"
Tight game for the Sox and Rays
1-1 at the stretch
"He almost has to start. Do you believe in miracles?"
Johnny Mac gets our first hit in a while
"He almost has to start. Do you believe in miracles?"
That old 2 out magic
"He almost has to start. Do you believe in miracles?"
Yeah, he's costing us more defensively
than he could possibly get us offensively against lefties.
"He almost has to start. Do you believe in miracles?"
Can Mench play first?
"He almost has to start. Do you believe in miracles?"
Bautista really sucks at first
"He almost has to start. Do you believe in miracles?"
he's not even hitting lefties either
so why is he playing?
Because he should be hitting lefties
"He almost has to start. Do you believe in miracles?"
so should Mench
and we all know how that turned out
Well our whole team has terrible platoon splits
"He almost has to start. Do you believe in miracles?"
All of a sudden Barajas isn't getting the throws to second
"He almost has to start. Do you believe in miracles?"
Doc works out of it
Now for the bats
"He almost has to start. Do you believe in miracles?"
Probably would have hit the track if it hadn't been caught
"He almost has to start. Do you believe in miracles?"
Two chances each for Rios and Wells
"He almost has to start. Do you believe in miracles?"
Infield single
In Rod we trust
"He almost has to start. Do you believe in miracles?"
Rays have them loaded with 1 out in the 8th
"He almost has to start. Do you believe in miracles?"
And don't score
"He almost has to start. Do you believe in miracles?"
Lind has managed to hide a power outage
"He almost has to start. Do you believe in miracles?"
true
but it doesn’t seem like that’s hidden. Anyone who watches him can see that lately
But we haven't been upset about him hitting 5th
or 6th against lefties
"He almost has to start. Do you believe in miracles?"

though he didn’t pitch great

my guess is Scooter has to be one for that double in the ninth
