VW swings at one well off the plate....not quite double play....

and yet again Fletcher brings out the ‘tie goes to the runner’ line…..

Darren has said 'Career Year' for AJ 20 times already......

you would think if he was his ‘career year’ he wouldn’t have his highest ERA for any season that he has thrown 100 innings or more

Rios walks.....

wonder if he’ll steal….maybe not till after Vernon

by Tom Dakers on Sep 9, 2008 3:00 PM EDT reply actions

Drink....the 'career year' thing came up again.....

saying he hasn’t have a bad start in a long while….course that’s ignoring that he had 3 bad starts in August that the team got him wins in anyway

MLB.tv has the Hawk

God it sucks having to listen to the Hawk.

I guess if you were the GM of a team

you have a little more right to call them “us” than most TV guys, but that doesn’t make it less annoying.

Cabrera hits one hard thru Rolen.....first hit of the game....

interesting debate on whether that would be an error in Toronto

by Tom Dakers on Sep 9, 2008 3:57 PM EDT reply actions

Lost the no-no on a hot shot to Rolen

That is the least earned run ever

Guy who bunted into a force play goes to second on an error on an easy double play ball, moves to third on a wild pitch, and scores on a sac fly.

To add to the reliever suckage debate....

Rob Neyer’s ‘Big Book of Baseball Lineups’ Lists Darren Hall as our ‘all-bust’ reliever

Still a one run game, AJ on his way out for the bottom of the 7th.....

would be tough to bring him back on short rest if he pitches 110+ pitches today

by Tom Dakers on Sep 9, 2008 4:22 PM EDT reply actions

AJ Strikes out Uribe

finishes 7 up by a run. 112 pitches. I’d imagine we’ll see Snakeface in the 8th

Go Jays!!!

Can’t follow the game too closely, lots of homework.

Remember when we were kids and we mixed sodas together and called them "suicides"? It was OK though, because Dr. Pepper was always there.

Have fun...

Don’t like the other Sox…

Would we see Downs here?

Or would Cito save him to close out the nightcap?

someone on Jamie Campbell's page suggested Rolen, Overbay and Ryan for Berkman

hell of a deal….get rid of $40 mil in salary and get one of the best hitters in baseball

by Tom Dakers on Sep 9, 2008 4:57 PM EDT reply actions

The irony

Clearly Moonraker should be hitting above Mac in the order, but if it’s Mac in the 9 slot instead of Moonraker we probably don’t score that inning.

You know we're cheering against you tonight, right?

"He almost has to start. Do you believe in miracles?"

by Torgen on Sep 9, 2008 5:17 PM EDT up reply actions

But we don't have any games left against them

where we have 7 against the Red Sox. Since we need to win a bunch of those games anyways, it’s better not to have to depend on the Rays losing their games too.

Jays of the Day: Overbay, Burnett, and Downs

BJ was really close, but for how nervous it was, can we really give it to him? OTOH, he induced two strikeouts and a grounder he fielded himself, so it’s not like the D bailed him out.
