I get to watch the afternoon game.....Darren Fletcher is the color guy today....
nice break from Rance
VW swings at one well off the plate....not quite double play....
and yet again Fletcher brings out the ‘tie goes to the runner’ line…..
Darren has said 'Career Year' for AJ 20 times already......
you would think if he was his ‘career year’ he wouldn’t have his highest ERA for any season that he has thrown 100 innings or more
Shouldn't have waited
"He almost has to start. Do you believe in miracles?"
Back against the wall for Moonraker
"He almost has to start. Do you believe in miracles?"
You'd think it was Doc vs. Buehrle
"He almost has to start. Do you believe in miracles?"
Drink....the 'career year' thing came up again.....
saying he hasn’t have a bad start in a long while….course that’s ignoring that he had 3 bad starts in August that the team got him wins in anyway
That old 2 out magic
"He almost has to start. Do you believe in miracles?"
He saw as many pitches as the entire inning to that point
"He almost has to start. Do you believe in miracles?"
MLB.tv has the Hawk
God it sucks having to listen to the Hawk.
"He almost has to start. Do you believe in miracles?"
I guess if you were the GM of a team
you have a little more right to call them “us” than most TV guys, but that doesn’t make it less annoying.
"He almost has to start. Do you believe in miracles?"
Cabrera hits one hard thru Rolen.....first hit of the game....
interesting debate on whether that would be an error in Toronto
Lost the no-no on a hot shot to Rolen
"He almost has to start. Do you believe in miracles?"
Two bad hops this inning
"He almost has to start. Do you believe in miracles?"
One of those that I hate that the scorer has to call it one or the other.....
who made the mistake, did AJ misread the sign? Did Zaun put down the wrong fingers? did he forget what he called?
That is the least earned run ever
Guy who bunted into a force play goes to second on an error on an easy double play ball, moves to third on a wild pitch, and scores on a sac fly.
"He almost has to start. Do you believe in miracles?"
To add to the reliever suckage debate....
Rob Neyer’s ‘Big Book of Baseball Lineups’ Lists Darren Hall as our ‘all-bust’ reliever
Still a one run game, AJ on his way out for the bottom of the 7th.....
would be tough to bring him back on short rest if he pitches 110+ pitches today
Tough making the call to the bullpen in a doubleheader
"He almost has to start. Do you believe in miracles?"
AJ Strikes out Uribe
finishes 7 up by a run. 112 pitches. I’d imagine we’ll see Snakeface in the 8th
Go Jays!!!
Can’t follow the game too closely, lots of homework.
Remember when we were kids and we mixed sodas together and called them "suicides"? It was OK though, because Dr. Pepper was always there.
Have fun...
Don’t like the other Sox…

Would we see Downs here?
Or would Cito save him to close out the nightcap?
"He almost has to start. Do you believe in miracles?"
Bunt fails again.....Cabrera comes into second with the leg way up
old days he’d get a pitch up and in after that
That's Pierzinski's third straight failed bunt
"He almost has to start. Do you believe in miracles?"
Two days off though
"He almost has to start. Do you believe in miracles?"
Ryan should be fine
Although I’m sure they’ll look into trading him in the offseason…what about a Ryan for Delgado swap??
Would they give up Delgado when they could just buy K-Rod?
"He almost has to start. Do you believe in miracles?"
someone on Jamie Campbell's page suggested Rolen, Overbay and Ryan for Berkman
hell of a deal….get rid of $40 mil in salary and get one of the best hitters in baseball
The irony
Clearly Moonraker should be hitting above Mac in the order, but if it’s Mac in the 9 slot instead of Moonraker we probably don’t score that inning.

Have y'all seen this?

I had to reread that comment.
I need to get my mind out of the gutter

What is the sound of one hand clapping?

was that a reply?
Don’t smack yourself in the face to find out. My world history class was struggling with Zen riddles today.

You know we're cheering against you tonight, right?
"He almost has to start. Do you believe in miracles?"
But we don't have any games left against them
where we have 7 against the Red Sox. Since we need to win a bunch of those games anyways, it’s better not to have to depend on the Rays losing their games too.
"He almost has to start. Do you believe in miracles?"
I know. Most of baseball is.
I can still cheer for them though.

9 game win streak
That’s our longest since almost exactly 10 years ago

enjoy your afternoon....we are back playing at 8:00 eastern tonight....
though I miss at least the start of the game.
Jays of the Day: Overbay, Burnett, and Downs
BJ was really close, but for how nervous it was, can we really give it to him? OTOH, he induced two strikeouts and a grounder he fielded himself, so it’s not like the D bailed him out.
"He almost has to start. Do you believe in miracles?"
I guess we should give it to BJ
I mean, it’s clearly a results based award.

Jay of the First Part of the Day.
