Aaron Hill AL Comeback Player of the Year
A much deserved award, Aaron Hill beat out Victor Martinez. Hill got 14 of 30 first place votes. He also received 5 second place and 3 third place votes, which means 8 people didn't vote for him. I don't know how you couldn't vote for the guy, after missing most of last season with a concussion, he hit 35 homers and drove in 108.
Congratulations Aaron, but I hope you never win that award again.
Former Jay Chris Carpenter won the NL version, finishing 17-4 with a 2.24 ERA. Carpenter missed most of the last two seasons after Tommy John surgery in 2007 and then a nerve problem in his shoulder last year.

congrats Aaron
No one deserves it more than you.
And I know who I hope wins it in 2010.
"Look at me! I'm Tomokazu Ohka of the Montreal Expos!"
Congrats to both guys!
Nice season Aaron.
And I wish we still had Carp on our team….
congrats to Hill
well deserved! As for Carp, what an incredible season he’s had

which means 8 people didn't vote for him. I don't know how you couldn't vote for the guy"
2 reasons:
1)the award is voted on by sportswriters and
2)the award is voted on by sportswriters.
Its disgraceful that these so called professionals ruin anything and everything they vote on… i know sometimes voting in some sports is skewed because reporters just dont like some players, but Aaron Hill is not exactly Barry Bonds. My guess is theyre simply too lazy to put in the 10 minutes of research it takes to make an educated decision.
The awards voted on by managers are any better
But then we do our own version of the big awards (Cy Young, MVP, Manager of the Year and Rookie of the Year) at SB Nation and I was irritated last year that some people left Roy Halladay’s name off the Cy Young ballot. When you have people voting for anything there are always ones that do it poorly.
