Morrow to the Jays
Ken Rosenthal reports that the Jays and Mariners hook up, this time sending Brandon Morrow to the Jays for Brandon League and another "prospect." YES! I wonder who the other prospect is, because we're getting a middle of the rotation starter in Morrow. I love you, Alex Anthropolous. Who could the other prospect be though? It would have to be somebody good. Also, how does this make sense for the M's? Theyre in contending mode and Morrow looked to be a big part of their plans for this season. Whatever, their loss is our gain. I bet its one of our glut of first basemen, Cooper or Dopriak seems likely. It would probably be Cooper though as I believe he's more highly regarded at this point. But this does solve the "problem" of too many first basemen. It could be Arencebia or D'Arnaud too. I don't know who else it could, maybe a pitching prospect makes sense.

If true, and depending on the prospect...
…this seems to make sense. Wish it was Accardo instead of League (although I suppose maybe this opens up a BP spot for Accardo?)
Cooper would seem like the likely candidate, although I hope it’s not him. If it somehow turns out to be Overbay, AA is a flipping genius.

very excited about this
I’m really hoping it’s not Arencibia, and AA sounded very excited about D’Arnaud so i have to agree it’s probably Cooper, maybe Dopirak, and it might even be Scott Campbell (complete speculation), if the M’s like him enough

The issue with Morrow is that he's a very inconsistent pitcher.
All the potential in the world but has been injured on a consistent basis and hasn’t shown major league level secondary pitches.
It’ll be interesting to see how this trade plays out and what prospect the Jays send to the M’s.

Rumor is there is no trade
I was interested in who the spect was but looks like its no one.
As a fan of trades, this dissapoints me. As a Ray fan, it gives me hope to still get Morrow. We have Soriano for 1 year, so Morrow can be a awesome SU man this year for us and a closer next year, Unlikely but I can dream.
Fire and Ice: Rafael Soriano and J.P Howell.......with their side kick Grant the aussie Balfour!

Potential Prospect
The Seattle blogs suggest that Brett Wallace is the unnamed prospect but that seems unlikely. Based on Seattle’s latest win-now project, it would have to be one of our more advanced prospects. David Cooper, JP Arencibia, Brad Mills, Robert Ray, Daniel Farquar, Brian Dopirak come to mind. It would be a shame to see Brian Dopirak go considering his turn around with the club. Daniel Farquar (sorry for the spelling) is a neat prospect with his multiple arm angles and plus fastball, and you’d hate to give up the power potential of Arencibia, and even Cooper considering it was his first full season in the minor leagues. So best case scenario it’s Mills or Ray, who’ll both be decent Big Leaguers if they can both overcome injuries. But in all likelihood it has to be Cooper or Arencibia as the Jays seem to be going in a different direction with their respective positions.

League
Brandon was a fun guy to run out there. When he entered a game there was always the potential for a big inning or the type of performance that made you think the Jays had their closer for the next decade. He started to turn it around there near the end of the season but it gets to the point where your nerves can’t take it anymore. Although Willy Mo Pena never really amounted to anything, Brandon reminded me a lot of him pitching. Tools off the charts but never really put it together. Hopefully he can with a change of scenery and he becomes a successful Major League baseball player. Hopefully Brandon Morrow does too! Good Luck Brandon, you were always a fun guy to have in the bullpen and were always nice to us bleacher bums when we got on your case.
Seattle Fans. See “Batter’s Box” blog for detailed Blue Jays prospect info and interviews with Blue Jays brass. Any info pertaining to this trade or the Blue Jays will be up there.

You guys will be impressed with Morrow if your GM has any sense on how to manage a pitcher, he got jerked around in Seattle beyond belief. He’s excited to leave Seattle and start fresh as a starter for the Jays. I’m excited to see how you guys bring him along. I can tell you that he’s put in a lot of work this off season and is primed to make an impact on your rotation.

lol, unfortunately pitcher management is one of the great Achilles heel of our GM

GM? Or M?
AA hasn’t really had a chance to muck up pitcher management yet, but Cito has. Cito would be the Manager.

Whoever has pull with the player management. With Seattle the GM had all the pull and was the one jerking him around. I’m not sure who has pull with the Jays since you guys have a new GM this year. I just hope he gets treated better in Toronto then he did with Seattle.
