Milton Bradley?
A number of folks are guessing that the Jays are the "surprise team" that could end up with Milton Bradley in a trade that might be finished "tonight". I can not imagine why Anthopoulos would be interested in Bradley, with his whole "build (but not rebuild) for the future" campaign. I guess he could play right field until the first injury/temper tantrum puts him out of the lineup. But, other than the fun us folks that write about the Jays would have with Cito and Milton in the clubhouse would have, I don't see the point to picking him up.
Would be nice to have something to write about while we lose games though.

Cubs fan here.
So who would the Cubs get? Vernon Wells? That contract is even worse than Bradley’s.

i am getting angry just at the prospect of a trade that includes Bradley on one side and Halladay on the other

I don't mind getting Milton
Didn’t he lead the AL in OPS in 2008? So long as the Cubs pay most of his salary (or take Vernon), maybe he would thrive in a low pressure situation like Toronto.

I would do Bradley for Wells in a second. Even if you have to eat Bradley’s contract, I’d do that.
This team won’t compete on the payroll that they are going to be given until either Wells returns to 2006 form, or Wells deal is over.

Bastian says
the Jays have no interest in Bradley

But that's Jordan speaking....
apparently Alex Anthopoulos said ‘no comment’.

right
but GMs aren’t exactly known for telling the truth about this stuff during pending negotiations anyway. Before the Granderson deal went down, all the GMs involved were denying it and saying no deal was close. I find Bastian pretty reliable and I don’t think he’d make that statement without some basis besides his own speculation. You never know, though.

A Bradley trade also doesn’t seem to make any sense with any of the other suggested moves that they’ve been linked to, unless Bradley is part of some kind of multi-team deal and picking up his contract is key for three-four other pieces that we really want.

mlbtraderumors.com is saying that the Angels are considering moving Erik Aybar for “something substantial” in return.
I’d much rather see Doc go to LAA than the skanks or blosox. Especially if Aybar is included in the deal.
Could Gonzalez be moved to third base?

Why do people forget we already have a 3B? And a good one?
If they get a true SS who can actually hit, Gonzalez goes to the bench and McDonald gets released.
If there is ANY logic in the world…haha.

well...there is logic in the world
Cause you gave it….is there logic in the Jay’s organization?

In all seriousness...
…this franchise needs to show some sort of direction, plan and purpose and a commitment to contending or they are going to lose me.
It gets more frustrating by the day.

Well we don't know yet that they aren't....
Will have to see what sort of trade they work out. Some things they have done I don’t understand but they haven’t done so much yet. I’m still in the show me mode. Saying good things but anyone can say they are building a team. Harder to do it. He lost points with me keeping Cito.

Yes, me too
To me, that’s the biggest disappointment so far, especially with the Jays admitting that 2010 is a rebuilding year. Cito is not a manager you use for rebuilding and he provided ample of evidence for that last year IMHO.
