Around SBN: 2012 Budweiser Shootout Entry List Released

Ouch...this Hurts...

http://www.tsn.ca/mlb/story/?id=276166

The Toronto Blue Jays' already thin starting pitching corps has suffered another loss.

The club announced on Thursday that left-hander Ricky Romero has been placed on the 15-day disabled list with a right oblique muscle strain.

The 24-year old has had a great start to the season, post a 2-0 record with a 1.71 ERA in three starts.

The move is retroactive to April 20, and the team will make a roster move prior to Saturday's game at Chicago.

Romero was taken sixth overall by the Blue Jays in the 2005 first year player draft.

So who is going to replace Romero in the rotation?  Do we see Wade Miller, Brad Mills or Brett Cecil get the call?

WTF?

Where did this come from???
Our friggin’ bullpens arm’s are going to fall off by August.

I was just thinking back about that Rios for Lincecum deal JP apparently kiboshed last year while sticking a fork in my eye.

If you go out and you’re looking for the girl to wink at you and she hasn’t winked at you before 12 she isn’t going to. You might as well go home.

my thoughts

Exactly, I like Rios but Lincecum would have been a great boost to the rotation. I had forgotten as well, damn.

I think we should start up the FIRE JP rants again just because of this :)

just mentioned this in my post....

I think it’s likely he will only miss a couple of starts. Hope we’ll see Cecil.

i thought JP was trying to get that deal done

and Sabean was the one who said no.

It was the Giants that squashed the deal.

JP wanted to pull the trigger.

the Jays might've been able to get Cain for Rios

but the Giants balked at Lincecum

I guess we can never really know for sure, but I think it was JP that offered it and it was close before the Giants decided to turn it down.

Pulling your torso around through the throw.

I’d argue that you don’t need the oblique on your throwing side.

yep, the jays are in pain

hopefully the jays can hold on for a while … we are looking at a virtual cattle drive back to the pitching ranks in May … Romero, Janssen, Ryan and Litsch all due back …. GOOD LUCK TO RICHMOND TONIGHT!
