Game 2 GameThread: Tigers at Jays

Detroit Tigers at Toronto Blue Jays, Apr 7, 2009 7:07 PM EDT

Next Game

Detroit Tigers
@ Toronto Blue Jays

Tuesday, Apr 7, 2009, 7:07 PM EDT
Rogers Centre

Edwin Jackson vs David Purcey

Mostly cloudy, snow. Game time temperature around 35.

Complete Coverage >

Not that I think tonight can go as well as last night, I'm looking forward to seeing how well Purcey does. I think he's going to have a good season for us. Not that I'll get to see the game because it isn't on any of the Sportsnet channels I get. Damn.

Same lineup for the Jays tonight. Since they all had at least one hit yesterday life is good. I guess we shouldn't hope for double digit runs scored every night, but I do think their offense will be better this year. Jackson had a good start against us in spring training, I'm hoping they learned something.

Something I missed earlier, Richard Griffin has an interesting Roger Clemen story on his blog.

Anyway even without the game on TV join us in the Game Thread, let's see if Lind can drive in 6 again today.

Rolen

dove kind of awkwardly for the chopper, made the throw to second from his butt, relay to first not in time.

Kind of an unnecessary, but nice looking, play. If he had let it go by, Scooter wouldn’t have been able to turn 2 anyway.

Taking home the Lamp and Ainge respectively?

Or what did we call the reliever’s one in the end?

I guess Hinske makes sense

if we expect better. Ainge is for if someone we expect to suck sucks as much as we expect. Oh, and maybe it was Caudell for the bullpen?

yep gave up three runs

on six hits though. but should be a good sign looking forward, plus he’s in line for the win, so . . . he does well in one meaningless stat but not as well in another

great walkoff win for Minnesota

which I saw in the pub after the Jays’ game, ruins his chance at the win. Very exciting game though not as good as ours!
