PS - I havent checked the site yet

But did anyone make a mention about the ESPN article about Halladay v Pujols being the dream matchup?

Everyone's dream matchup involved Pujols

and most of them were Halladay.

They're not just hitting home runs. They're doing the little things, like hitting doubles.

Luckily we don't need to worry about Frasor batting unless we've already scored a run.

methinks aaron could use a day off

just to rest – give johnny mac a chance at interleague – he likes to do the little things

Nick Johnson's WPA is .317

The Nats’ hitters as a team are -.699

would assume their batting would be worse than that for the season

We should score runs when we load the bases.

he had an 8 inning outing vs. Oakland

if he could do that again, it would be awesome

day off after this series though … much needed

I agree

Frick. Goddamned Dunn. I still vote on plunking him.

well, can't win every one

and at least we don’t have to face zimmermann again. the next two starters shouldn’t be as tough to hit

Terrible pitch to a lefty

by Torgen on Jun 19, 2009 11:07 PM EDT up reply actions

It was his 20th pitch

If he didn’t want to be tired, he should have thrown strikes to Johnson and Zimmerman.

They're not just hitting home runs. They're doing the little things, like hitting doubles.

by Torgen on Jun 19, 2009 11:11 PM EDT up reply actions

he would probably have had to pitch the next inning anyway

by jessef on Jun 19, 2009 11:11 PM EDT up reply actions

that's what made it bad

on a lefty like that you want that pitch up . . . don’t want to let him drop the hands on you . . .

"The NY Mets are my favorite squadron" -- Apu Nahasapeemapetilon

by jessef on Jun 19, 2009 11:10 PM EDT up reply actions

yeah

wish he would have tried to get that pitch up a little tighter on his hands

I could live with that kind of loss...

…if it was a true pitching duel, but jeez, that was just… four hours of my life I wish I could get back.

by L-J on Jun 19, 2009 11:07 PM EDT reply actions

good pitching though, just no hitting – most of their bullpen threw 95-98mph down the pipe and we didn’t connect

by epoxypatch on Jun 19, 2009 11:08 PM EDT reply actions

Also, Frasor threw 7 straight balls with a 1-2 count on Johnson

They're not just hitting home runs. They're doing the little things, like hitting doubles.

Yeah really it was the walks that killed us there

He only threw 4 pitches yesterday

wonder if he had to warm up more than the one time today

I blame the second game thread...

Seriously though, bats did nothing, can’t fault our pitchers for getting us to 11 with 1 run

by plen on Jun 19, 2009 11:12 PM EDT reply actions

Ok.....

So all that Cecil has to do is throw a complete game shutout and save the bullpen for a day.

No pressure though
