Jays Doing Good
e-mail sent from my sister today (Thursday, June 25, 2009)
"Vernon, Jeremy and Brandon were just here at the food bank. Got a picture and their autographs!!

Wow, these Jays must really keep a busy schedule. Their day includes community work. Then off to hitting practice. Than game against the Reds tonight. Maybe more in between, who knows?

haha, they are well compensated, but I don’t think anyone would suggest they have it easy. Not that they have the hardest job in the world, either.
Anyway, I always really enjoy seeing stuff like this. A city supports its team (though I’d like to see T.O. support the Jays a little more in terms of attendance sometimes) in a lot of ways and so it’s nice to see players from the team take an active part in the community. But I hope your sister didn’t ask Accardo how his groin was feeling – that could be a little awkward

Do a lot for the community.
For as much as the Leafs get crapped on for being owned by the pension plan and how they have so much money they do a lot of hospital visits and community stuff.
There was quotes from Burke and Van Ryn about how surprised they were about the level of involvement that MLSE had with the community.
'But I don't want to go among mad people' Alice remarked.
'Oh, you can't help that' said the Cat 'we're all mad here'.
