And a Bottle of Kansas City Wine: Game Thread Royals at Jays
Kansas City Royals at Toronto Blue Jays, Jun 7, 2009 1:07 PM EDT
After a couple of days away from all things Jay and a late night, early early morning I have nothing profound to say about the Jays. I did see bits of the Jays win over Greinke (yay) and heard some of the loss to Hochevar (boo) but that's about it. Hill's slide has made it to 25 at bats without a hit. Hopefully he'll break out of it big today. Lyle Overbay has a 12 game hitting streak going but still is hitting near the bottom of the order.
Jays have Halladay going today (9-1, 2,77) while the Royals have Kyle Davies starting (2-5, 5.20). We should score some runs today. I'm hoping Halladay doesn't get close to the 133 pitches from last start.
Today lineup:

The Jays need a proper 3B
Rolen cant play 2 games in a row it seems. He’s way to fragile… and Batista just sucks.

Rolen has played 49/58 games
this year, and has put up great numbers and plus defense. Bautista’s OBP is >400

i actually agreed with rance
on every time theres a pitch inside, wells always ends up falling over the plate and having to run away 5 yards to stop falling over.

I know Rios's throws have tail to them
but I’ve seen him adjust for it. I think it was at Oakland Coliseum when he was playing center last year, and it looked like he was throwing it to first on a ball to the gap. The ball took a left turn in midair and almost caught the runner at second.

over many games … hopefully he can get back to that pace soon
in 2008 Inglett generated 297 average over 109 games, 355 OBP and 407 slugging
in 2006 with Cleveland he generated 284 average over 64 games, 332 OBP and 383 slugging
