Casey Janssen up for Accardo

Jordan Bastian twittered it a few minutes ago as well as saying Kevin Millar is switching to number 15 now that Alex Rios isn't using it. Janssen isn't as interesting a choice as I was hoping for, but I guess they want to see what he can do in the pen.

No kidding. Saw this as well and I was kinda disappointed.

I got to be honest, with the way all of Janssen’s pitches were being thrown I have lost most of my confidence in the guy. Nothing bent or moved all of it stayed flat.

very few pitchers

can return from surgery like Casey had. I’ve always liked him as a pitcher, but I have to agree that his stuff looked pretty flat over his short stint as a starter.

That said, I do think it’s worth giving him another look – 5 starts aren’t really enough time to judge even if he hadn’t missed a full season and not thrown in the majors for almost 2 years, and reports and numbers from the minors have been generally positive.

And if that is the case and his pitches are actually moving again then I will take it back, but of course I can’t see that until he is up here.
