Red Sox kicking themselves?

How huge would it have been to have Doc throwing 1 game vs. the Yankees this weekend?  I bet after Smoltz 8 ER in 3 1/3 innings and his total lack of interest/passion last night the Red Sox might be wishing they were willing to give in to the Jays demands for Halladay.

The Red Sox still might be better served calling up Bowden for that spot in the rotation rather then automatically giving away wins by having Smoltz start....

If we had traded Halladay to any AL team

I estimate the probability that we woudl have hosted that team on opening day as 100%. The scheduler has not been kind to us.

They're not just hitting home runs. They're doing the little things, like hitting doubles.

yeah..it was more the Jays were tough..

its not like Boston didn’t put in an offer, they were just premium customers so they had to go the extra distance and wouldn’t

cant really predict a smoltz collaspe…bosox got a good farm system for hitting..i guess that aint the same for pitching

they have good pitchers in the system

but that doesn’t mean they’re all necessarily major-league ready. Also, like all large-market teams, they benefit from overhyping their prospects, though whether this is them doing it purposely or it is done by the media is up to interpretation (I think it is both).
