Jays at Rays Game Thread
Toronto Blue Jays at Tampa Bay Rays, Sep 20, 2009 1:38 PM EDT
I am so crushed that the game isn't on TV today. I was really looking forward to watching Doc.
Yeah Millar is in there....maybe it is just as well I can't watch. At least Ruiz gets a rare start. I don't know why they don't play him at first, he can't be worse than Millar defensively.

I guess you guys don't get Jays Vision, but it's also on the "Sports Preview Channel"
Whatever that is.

There was something in the Star about him having an inflamed heel
Also, he said he wanted to come back to the Jays.
They're not just hitting home runs. They're doing the little things, like hitting doubles.

I love the call by Ashby
Makes the play deep in the hole, but still gets Millar at first easily’

That's the first time we've hit a ball hard not right at someone in a long time

Seriously, there's two out
They’re insane if they pitch to Bautista.

There's our usual line drive right at someone

Is this the last time...
…I get to see a Roy Halladay start as a Blue Jay? Yeah, I’m too cheap to pay for MLB.com this year (lost my job…twice) and Comcast’s prices are outrageous. So here in Florida I wait to see Halladay get beaten by the Rays (lately) on FSN.
Anyway, I missed the first inning, which means I missed half the total offense of the game. Overall, a pretty pathetic showing by most involved. Even Doc was not that sharp (3BBs, 10 hits though 2 of those could have easily been ruled errors by Scutaro) but once again, he grinded out 7 decent innings.
It still baffles me when someone of Halladay’s caliber has trouble with someone like Pat Burrell, who came into the game hitting under .230 with an OBP of around .327, can go 3-for-3 with a walk. Crawford has had Doc’s number for a while, but Burrell? Come on.
No big clutch hits, though Vernon’s 8th inning at bat was pretty good. I was really just hoping for a tie to get Doc off the hook, but to no one’s surprise, there was no offence, which is a shock considering Millar was in the line-up. Eh, it’s been a lost season so my sarcasm is particularly bad. But honestly, why the heck does Cito keep running Millar out there? It’s a joke.
