Trade for Milton Bradley?

The Jays need a good defensive RF, and he should come cheap, given his rep. He also has huge OBP numbers, which doesn't grow on trees. He's having an off-year power and avg.-wise, but there's no reason to think that he wouldn't go back to his 2008 form if he returned to the AL.

Sure, there's risk involved here, given his history. But the Jays aren't exactly at the top of many free agent's desired destination lists. This would be a great moneyball-type move.

I’m not sure that his bat is worth the problems that seem to surround him.

For $20 million over the next 2 years...

…I’m fairly certain he wouldn’t fit in the budget, let alone whether or not he’d be a good fit in the clubhouse (answer: no).

The assumption is that the cubs are eating a lot of salary to move him

They're not just hitting home runs. They're doing the little things, like hitting doubles.

At first he would push Snider to left and Lind to DH

If we sign another outfielder then maybe we’re talking about eating Overbay’s money and moving one of them to first.

Yeah it would Lind is anyone. He is a leftie and a bit taller.

Check that I know Snider is a lefty too, I just meant taller…. now where is that coffee…

Even beyond his constant issues with managers, teammates, fans, etc….this dude is ALWAYS hurt. That isn’t exactly a recipe for a guy you’d be paying $10M a season for…

If we actually have to pay him $10M then there's nothing to talk about

The assumption is that the Cubs are eating money to be rid of him.

They're not just hitting home runs. They're doing the little things, like hitting doubles.

if you get one of his few good statistical seasons, there might be a gamble here … but if you get one of his many weak seasons, it is a bad risk

he creates as many lineup headaches as he resolves, I would have to take a pass

Dye

I would rather AA go after Dye from the white soxs – looks like the addition of Rios means the subtraction of Dye – He is a 30hr 100RBI guy good fit behind Wells. Bradley has too many problems – I would also like to see AA try and trade Overbay and one of our bullpen guys for anything – not that Overbay is bad – pretty good defence but would love to see Lind a 1st – and would free up some money to sign Rod and Marco

Bradley plays as your DH and nothing else

Milton has a gun, but on that shit-turf that you all play on, I wouldn’t play him any more on the field than I have to.

That guy came equipped with a bad set of legs
