With Every Mistake We Must Surely Be Learning: 9/23 Game Thread, Orioles at Jays

Baltimore Orioles at Toronto Blue Jays, Sep 23, 2009 7:07 PM EDT

Some more George Harrison Beatles love tonight.  No Millar tonight, so maybe Cito is learning - at least we're only seeing him against lefties.  Ruiz still can't get a runout though - I'd rather see Snider in Right, Lind in left, and Ruiz DH-ing, no?  I enjoyed Tom's post today about what's the point of the rest of the season.  I guess my answer is that I watch because it's baseball and I like baseball.  And no matter the situation, certain players and particularly the young guys are always fun to watch.

Tonight, Scott Richmond faces off against Jeremy Guthrie.  Richmond has really had a tough second half but maybe he can turn in a good start against Baltimore.  He has to be very frustrated at this point, but he's likely to still play a role next season because when does a team, especially the Jays, not need it's 7, 8, and 9 starters at some point during a season?  That's not to say that a strong finish to the season wouldn't be very nice for him and give the Jays a little more confidence in him.

Not too bad

it’s hot here today and I’m not a fan of the heat. How are you doing tonight?

Actually, it's a great night!!

The kids are fed…their homework is done…Mike’s out golfing all evening…and I have nothing to do but watch the game! I’d say life is pretty good

what sort of comics?

we didn’t have a video game thing for the kids until this year….always wanted to see their faces a bit more. Comics I’m all for tho

it's funny because she doesn't ever watch TV

but she saw some of my spiderman and x-men comics and got really interested in the characters.

yeah that's a big part, if children see parents reading that helps a lot.

We have so many different kinds of books in the house I never accept that the kids say they don’t want to read

great question

not sure about who the Jays are playing in interleague, but I’ve never been to Coors and I hear Denver is fun. Toronto is always a great place to spend some time, and the Bay Area would be cool.

and host the Dodgers, SF, and probably Philly.

They're not just hitting home runs. They're doing the little things, like hitting doubles.

I think that when you wake up on your own you’re more likely to be in R.E.M. so you remember your dreams more, but I could be making that up.
