Jays Not Pursuing Delgado?
Too bad if true. I was looking forward to seeing him hit his 500th in a Jay uniform. Perhaps it's a negotiating ploy.
I do like AA's policy of not commenting on rumours. Just wish he could throw us a bone on this one and sign the guy.

thx for the update
phew. I am sure Delgado was a great Jay and could be of value to the team. But if 1B prospects were not lined up a dozen deep in the Jays’ org, sure it would be great to have him back. However, since they are lined up behind first base, bringing Carlos back might create as many problems as it resolves. Hopefully he will land somewhere else.
Didn't we just acquire Wallace because we had zero 1B prospects?
Ruiz is not a prospect. Dopirak is maybe a prospect, but he’s a backup 1B at best at the MLB.
Delgado is a short-term solution, not a long-term prospect – two different discussions.
In the short run, the Jays are awash with 1B candidates including Overbay, Dopirak, Lind and Ruiz. And that is a list that is already Millar-shortened.
Longer-term solutions to Jays’ 1B requirement is a different discussion that would not even include Delgado, IMHO, and has hopefully been addressed by Wallace acquisition.
Of course, that was my bad by calling him a 1B “prospect” in the first post. Fill-in or transitional solution might have been a better terms maybe.
