Make your predictions: Jason Frasor
Predicting what the relievers will do isn't as much fun as trying to figure out what the starters will do but still here we are. Last year, at 31, Frasor had the best season of his career. He started the season as a set up man and vultured a bunch of wins. He was 4-0 by May 2nd. When Scott Downs went down Frasor became the closer. He had 8 saves in the last couple of months of the season.
Anyway Jason's season:
Bill James predicts a 4-3, 3.41, 58 games, 1 SV season.
CHONE has him 3-2, 3.53, 51 games and doesn't guess at saves.
So give us your guess at what Frasor will do, give us games, ERA, saves and what every else fits.

hmmm, if he has a season like last year again in 2010, I am not sure that it would not be wiser to sign him - a proven Jay in the hand is worth two potentials in the system

MLBastian twitter says that Frasor and Downs are available for trade
@jaysonst reports that Jays have told teams that Downs & Frasor are available. Makes sense since both are FAs after the 2010 season.

Type A Free Agent
If they are going to trade him then they would need to get the equivilent of a first rounder and a sandwich pick, if not more.

predicting relief pitchers' performance is almost impossible
who could have predicted Frasor’s year last year? That said, I expect a strong season. Frasor was always a good relief pitcher and the split-change he added to get lefties made him an excellent one.

So I’m curious, everyone seems to be pegging Frasor as a kind of “if necessary” closer. Honestly of the group of relief pitchers they have now, I think Frasor would be the best choice for their everyday closer. Are they going to use Downs again?

he has the experience, and with an Accardo/Downs/Frasor shut down team... who knows.
Could be 2007 all over again. With a ton more power and a breakout leadoff campaign from JoBau (.360+ OBP)….
