Around SBN: Terry Collins, David Wright, And The Mets/Brewers Kerfuffle

The only one on the list that they guess goes to the Blue Jays is Magglio Ordonez ranked at 21. Other notables for Blue Jays include John Buck (29) and Scott Downs (31) both predicted to head to the Bo Sox and Kevin Gregg (48) to head down to Atlanta.

Magglio might be a good fit if he stays healthy

But has the Jays ever signed a Boras client? I’m guessing the answer is an emphatic NO.

Magglio?

In honor of the Jays 2nd Baseman who played with fire in more ways than one.

I like the idea of Magglio actually

but he’s younger and that actually scares me a little. Manny’s up there in age but he’s been so effective even recently that he’s going to be very useful even with some regression. Magglio’s been pretty excellent too (and he’d DH, so not much injury concern) but we don’t know how much he’s going to regress after a career year + turning 37. As Damaso said I’m wary of the price tag/any deal over 2 years too.

Yeah I think I am with you.

Who knows it wasn’t like it was a solid rumour. The guys over there were just looking at things like team needs, player situations and payroll thing-ma-gigs.

I think the Phils will be way more active than just picking up Takahashi.

And the Pirates just seem too active according to predictions. I mean, they are pretty cheap. They make money by being cheap.

Magglio to TO? Maybe but he’s been so unhealthy the last couple of years. It’s got to be an incentive laden deal. Personally, I’d rather get Carlos Pena to play 1st.

Fly away blue jays, fly fly away

John Buck and Scott Downs likely to sign with the Red Sox? I suppose it’s the least we can do for taking their pitching coach and AAA manager.

Kevin Gregg to the Atlanta Braves and Miguel Olivo to the Texas Rangers.

No word on Jason Frasor, guess he’s not a top-50 guy, though nice to see our other Type B free agents make the list of top free agents.

Frankly, this list doesn’t seem based on rumours, just one guy’s guesses (and he’ll be happy with a 25% success rate). But as long as all these guys have suitors elsewhere, it bodes well for the Jays stockpiling draft picks for next year.

Yeah thats just it.

Its just his guesses on where guys are going based on team needs and spending habits.
