BBB Superbowl picks

Logo_202010-super-bowl_medium

IT'S SUPER SUNDAY BABY!

Today the Colts and Saints battle for Football Supremacy. Both teams live and die on their offense with 2 of the best Peyton Manning and Drew Brees at the helm.

I personally don't think it will be that close. Manning is just too damn good and the Saints frankly stink on the defensive side of the ball and live by the takeway and other teams mistakes. The Colts don't make mistakes.

Who you got?

Add in from Tom: Just thought I'd add that SBNation is all over the game, and since they pay the bills around here, they get a plug. They have a few bloggers at the game and will have stories no one else has and the stories everyone else has. So go here to see it all. End of commercial. Story it wasn't as entertaining as most of the Super Bowl ads.

Update: SB is running a game thread, if you want to join in, here it is.

i think i agree, but

if the colts can’t get pressure, Brees could eat them alive.

that said, i don’t think Brees is a big game QB

continuing the flip flop…..

Saints 41
Colts 38

depends

personally, I think that when Drew Brees and the Saints offense are firing on all cylinders, they are the best team in the league. However, the 2009-10 Saints have been a little inconsistent relative to the 2008-09 version, IMHO. Moreover, the Saints did not really look that great two weeks ago, so if that team shows up again I would have to give it to the Colts. However, if Brews comes out firing and hitting targets all over the field, it is all done and the Saints will come marching home.

I will let my Brees fan bias make my decision for me. Saints 38, Colts 28, but this is not a very “bettable” game IMHO.

Since I'm a Colts fan

I’m gonna be biased by predicting:

Colts 34 – Saints 31

It’s going to be a close game.

I'm also a Colts fan

Colts – 27
Saints – 17

With the score knotted at 17 heading into the 4th, Manning completes a 12 yard pass to Dallas Clark, finishing a 8 minute drive. The Saints are stunned and are unable to recover.

HEADING STRAIGHT FOR THEM, I PRESS DOWN MAH GUNS!

it’s American football that hates snow. they will only play the super bowl somewhere there is no winter or indoors. big tough-guy winter sport playing their championship game in….Miami.

HI. I creater a FanPost yesterday, an article that was written by another author (props credited tot hat writer with a link provided) re: the likliness of baseball players in video games. The topic was quite applicable (even considering the fact that a former Jay was noted in the write up—-heck a post be craigincalgary re: MLB09 the show still exists on the site from last year) however it was removed from this site.

If that topic was is not applicable re: baseball and Superbowl/NFL Pool picks are then I find these decisions very to delete certain fan posts very unfair.

I have been a very dedicated reader and promoter of this BluebirdBanter (reader longer than member) and think that perhaps being a non member may be easier. It was only in January that we were encouraged by Tom to post things on this site because that is keeps topics/interactions fresh and flowing.

These are just my thoughts.

if you want to use something written by someone else

Link to it, so their site gets the views. We don’t have the right to copy and paste other people’s work. SB Nation is very serious about protecting their material so using other people’s isn’t something we like to do.

by Tom Dakers on Feb 9, 2010 11:53 AM EST up reply actions   0 recs

yep

as Tom said, if you want to link to it, you can do a fanshot, which gives you something like fifty words to explain the link

"Look at me! I'm Tomokazu Ohka of the Montreal Expos!"

I deleted it

because we can’t put and paste the entirety of other people’s work onto our site.

I did think it was a great piece but it belongs to someone else.

If you want to link to someone else’s post, you’ve got a couple of choices: (1) do a fanpost, excerpt from the post and provide some analysis or discussion about it; or (2) do a fanshot with just the link and a quote.

What we can’t do is reproduce in full someone else’s copyrighted work.

Sweet! Thanks for the feed back. I thought that by just putting on a link deemed it less likely to view. For future posts I shall do it that way. Keep up the good work guys

we appreciate you following up about it

and there’s nothing wrong with excerpting pieces of a post – using the quote icon in the toolbar makes it look like a nice pretty blockquote
