Quick Recap: Spring Game 10, Braves and Jays

Braves 8 Blue Jays 5

We were overdue for some bad pitching. Pitchers generally will have a bad spring game at some point, it really doesn't matter if the pitcher is assured of a spot on the team. Often arms are sore in the middle of spring.

Pitchers:

  • Brandon Morrow: 3 innings, 6 hits, 2 walks, 4 earned runs. He struck out 5, so there was something good about his day. He is going to have days like this during the season.
  • Jason Fraser: 4 hits, 4 earned, 2 walks. Only got one out. Yeah, he was really bad.
  • Willie Collazo: 2 quick outs.
  • Kevin Gregg: 1 quick 1, 2 , 3 inning.
  • Scott Downs: gave up 1 hit in his inning with 1 strikeout.
  • Shawn Camp: three quick outs, 1 K.
  • Josh Roenicke: 1 inning, 1 hit, 1 K.
  • Rommie Lewis: 1 inning, 1 hit, 1 walk.

Wouldn’t worry too much about Morrow’s start. 5 Ks to 2 walks sounds decent. Still, cutting the walks would be nice. I wonder how many of the hits were liners or hard hit flyballs/groundballs.
