Game Thread for March 19
Rushing out the door, game is on MLB audio. Likely will be back sometimes during the game. We have the B team out there today:
Gathright CF
McDonald SS
Reed LF
Ruiz 1B
Lubanski RF
Cooper DH
Molina C
Tolisano 2B
Ochinko 3B.
Brandon Morrow will start. I get the feeling the Jays are skirting the rules about bringing some regulars on the bus trips but if no one complains, all is good. There is no reason Hill, Lind and all should have to have a 3 hour bus ride. They can get their swings in at camp.

cooper
Is still with the big boy squad? Odd. There’s no room for him in the organization anymore really. Perhaps pumping him up to be traded?

It’s way too early to right off Cooper. He was terribly rushed last season, most college guys started at A+ not AA. And who is blocking him exactly? Wallace and Lind at 1b/DH, which is not even a lock. Ruiz is 33 already and unproven, Dopirak is also more a minor league veteran. Cooper might be a notch behind them at the moment but to right him off is premature. Don’t get me wrong, I think if AA has to give up a prospect at some point Cooper might be it. But to say there is no room in the organization for a guy 1 year after he was a first round pick is a little extreme.
He has been sent to the minor league camp but I guess they brought him in for the game
But course it is way way too early to say there is no room at the inn for him. If you write off a guy at his age, you won’t have anybody ever make it to the majors.
what i meant
Is with wallace being valued at what he is with the halladay trade, cooper is going to have to rake to move ahead of him.

Morrow takes the mound. Announcers speculate he has the “highest upide” among Jays pitchers.
Agree or disagree?
yep, just noticed and it used to say Morrow and the announcers said Register … so that must be it
too bad, was looking forward to hearing Morrow
Houton announcers are upset because new rules specify that if you change lineup, then you have to re-issue the media disclaimer … LOL
MORROW HAS SHOULDER PROBLEM
hence not in the game
no indication as to how severe

I take Snider not being in the lineup as a good sign.
He has been playing a lot with B squad, seemed Cito was trying to get him in every game. I am hoping Cito has seen enough to say Snider is going north right away and will get a days rest before going out with A squad tomorrow.
Young Arms
With so many young arms, I’d really like to see Cito turn to the bullpen often – Give us a chance to really evaluate the arms we like and want to build around, and limit the innings guys like marcum and mcgowan get so they can be healthy for a big year next season. Lots of prospects to be excited about, especially after this years draft!

Kind of crummy of the Jays playing a lineup of low minor players...
astros can’t get a good view of their pitchers
likely would beat me in a race.....
I am curious how fast he is now….he is only 29 so shouldn’t have lost much speed yet
