Bullpen Gospels In Stores Today
Just a reminder that Dirk Hayhurst's book, Bullpen Gospels is to be in stores today. If you need a reminder of how good of a read it will be, Hugo's review is here.
And for any of you in the Toronto area Dirk will be doing a signing the day of the Jay's home opener, April 12th, 4 pm at the Festival Hall Chapters on John and Richmond. There is a Facebook event listing here:
http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=341625737311
He will only be signing the book. How cool would it be to have a Garfoose drawing in your copy?
Added by Hugo: To buy Dirk's book online and for more information, check out his website.
Also, Dirk will be doing a pre-game signing at the Rogers Centre for the Jays' second home game - April 13th

Is the book only being released in N.America?
Or is there a chance I might find it in a bookstore here in the UK some time in the future?
good question
might be the kind of thing you have to order online in Europe.

I can't imagine there is a large Baseball section in most UK bookstores
So I’d imagine you’d have to order it.
Will have to do some digging around
Might be able to order it from the local Waterstone’s, they tend to have a good stock of various sports books that can be ordered in. Hopefully can grab it when I order the Miracle of Castel di Sangro next week, will be two good books to get my teeth into.
Apparently Chapters doesn't have a copy in stock for 100km around Edmonton
Wonderful.

we are in the West....it will take a couple of days to get out here...
My nearest one has 7 copies coming. Stupid living in the west.
Hey now.

I pre-ordered mine from Amazon...
It was shipped today so hopefully it’ll be there when I get home! Really looking forward to reading it (like every one else). But first I have to finish off my wonderderful spring break holiday on beautiful Gabriola Island!! Have any snow lately Tom??? :)
No snow...it has been great the last few days....
some of which I missed with the endless fantasy draft….but a great day today to walk to Chapters and back, no more than a dozen times to see if the book had magically appeared on the shelf.
weird
I bought my copy from Barnes and Noble and received it a week ago

Apparently today is the release date everywhere
sometimes stores get a book before the release date and don’t know they are supposed to sit on it till the date. I had a friend at a music shop and every now and then he’d have a CD that wasn’t to be out until the next week, ‘I can’t sell this, take it, pay me later’.
Kieth Olbermann...
…opened his show yesterday by mentioning the book, recommending the book and saying the book is getting rave reviews. He said – “Buy it, you won’t be disappointed.”
Looks like I get me a book to buy!
yeah
it was interesting having my review up on Dirk’s site next to Olbermann’s (of course, his was way on top, mine was on the bottom, but still)

Good review from the Star's Richard Griffin
Good as he liked the book, but also an interesting review.
