MLB LIVE Radio & At Bat

I would have posted this under the MLB.TV fan post but I guess it is closed now?

Anyway, I understand that some of you subscribe to MLB radio and I find that I tend to read more about baseball than actually watch it.  Always on the go it's just easier.  Why not listen, right?  I have been hearing and reading very positive things about the 'MLB - At Bat' app for the iPhone/BB.  It says you can watch/listen to games provided you have the subscription.  What is not 100% clear is whether or not you have to have the radio subscription on top of the $15 app to have it work on the app.

Does anyone have the 2010 version of this app or even had the '09 one?  If so, did you have to pay for both radio streaming on MLB.com and (obviously) the app?

From what I gather (from a friend who has it)

At least in pre-season the 15$ gives you the MLB Audio. He has listened to 3 games so far on his iPhone and does NOT have a separate MLB Audio suscription. He’s not sure if that’s just a pre-season quirk, or if it’s all season, but that’s all I got right now.

I know for sure though that the MLB.TV video function requires the suscription separately.

Thanks!. I actually just bought the app and I too feel it may be just a quirk. Either way the app is excellent. The access to all of the stats etc is wonderful. Also you get the game gay display like on mlb.com and I am sure that with further use there will be many things that I will like even more.

Te audio is choppy at times which I think is annoying but manageable. The FAN 590 had a broadcast and it was always dropping out so I had to bear with the the aweful (although not as awful as tv) Detroit Broadcasters. I am hoping that as the regular season comes into effect that the choppy/pausing broadcast, which undoubtedly has more to do with the wifi/3G connections, will resolve.

Either way, at $15 for an entire season, it’s worth it.
