Adeiny Hechavarria Promoted to New Hampshire

As Clint noted in the Eastern League All-Stat thread, Adeiny Hechavarria is being promoted to New Hampshire. The story is here, but the important part is:

After the game, shortstop Adeiny Hechavarria was promoted to Double-A New Hampshire. Although he struggled at the plate, the Cuban prospect was very adept with the glove and will make his mark with the Fishercats beginning Wednesday. Shortstop Luis Sanchez will be transferred from New Hampshire to take his roster spot with the Blue Jays on Wednesday.

It does seem funny he'd be moved up when he isn't hitting well but with the small sample size we are dealing with here, I'd go along with the people that have actually seen him play.

No problem Tom, I deleted my fanshot, this seems big enough for the main page

I think he must have had this written into his contract, it’s happening right at the end of June, so it’s possible his cotract stated he would be in AA by July. I hope this doesn’t mess with his development

It maybe in his contract, or perhaps the Jays think the hitting coach in NH is a better fit?

The NH hitting coach

Is like 90 years old and can’t go on road trips. But when he is there he knows a lot. Too bad he can’t help Cooper.

Hmmm, I’m guessing this is the same Ralph Dickenson who’s coaching the Fisher Cats?

Could be that he’s seeing the ball well and making good contact, but not having them fall in. Hill had that issue in 2008, where he was scorching the ball to start, but everything was at a position player. There’s no point keeping him at High A if his mechanics are there but it doesn’t show in the numbers yet.

I will try tonight

Or whenever he plays next to give a review.

Lots of Blue Jays personnel

Here today. They came for Drabek yesterday and must have stayed for Hech.

Hahaha

Jay’s bottom 3 tonight

Hill – Green – Hoffpauir.
I’ve never heard of Clevelands pitcher but tonight screams “Carrer Day”.

I'm on a horse.
