Jose Bautista has CRAZY power

It's a shame that Jose got snubbed for the HR derby, but did anyone check out Jose's long, long foul ball in the 4th off John Lackey? It curved just foul, but it went into the upper deck. Now I knew Jose has good power, but there haven't been many people that have hit balls that ended up in the 5th deck (Jose Canseco and Josh Phelps come to mind). Anyone else know who else has hit homers into the upper deck?

I remember a game where Alex Rios hit a monster shot just foul. It was upper deck.

There has been a few {very few}. Mark Mcguire, Joe Carter, Shawn Green, Cecil Fielder that i can think of quickly.

wow...he got snubbed for the derby????

He is leading the league in HR’s for crying out loud…wtf

Whoever is leading the league in home runs should have an automatic bye to the derby. Glad to hear that David Ortiz is making a fuss about it on behalf of Bautista. I mean, Nick Swisher with 14 homers gets in, but Jose with 24 doesn’t? Ridiculous.

they arent going to take 2 jays

and i think they took vernon because he has a longer track record and better name recognition. that being said, i think Jose would have done much better.

wasn’t there a report/interview where Bautista was not all that keen to participate anyway? Something about having to adjust his swing and that might mess him up for the 2nd half? Probably just as well he stayed out of it if that would be the case! :)

Nah, He said he would have been honoured to participate and he was little confused as to why he wasn’t at least asked.

He may have said something to that effect afterwards though

Life as a Toronto Sports Fan?... *sigh*... It is what it is...
