Hugo wrote about our trade deadline options for SB Nation just a couple of weeks back and since he did such a good job on it I'm not going to go over the same ground. Only change since Hugo wrote that piece is the Gonzalez trade. As well as subtracting one trade piece and picking up a talented player, the trade also showed that Alex Anthopoulos is willing to make a big, midseason move.

In the last couple of days we've been hearing about teams being interested in Scott Downs (who wouldn't be) and this morning Bob Elliot wrote that many teams had scouts looking at John Buck at last night's game. I know folks would love to see Lyle Overbay traded but I think there are a lot of first basemen out there on the trade market, so I'm not sure how much interest there will be there.
