We are getting aggravated. - Gm 100 - Orioles @ Jays
Baltimore Orioles at Toronto Blue Jays, Jul 26, 2010 7:07 PM EDT
Well I did want to have a big post planned for game number 100 but it has been a very long and rough day. The problem as it stands is, it's 15 minutes until the thread goes live and I still on the first paragraph... you see my predicament. I started the post earlier and my computer crashed. Usually SBnation saves the draft so everything is good but for some reason it didn't so I had to start again. Then I checked on the tracking status of a package I was having delivered and it said the post office had dropped off the delivery card for pickup.... but they didn't so I had to wait on hold for 20 minutes to get a number and find out which post office was holding my parcel. Finally got that all sorted and I get back home to find my twins in the midst of a full blown tantrum. Joys. Baseball can't get here fast enough.
Tonight marks the return of Brandon Morrow as he had his last start skipped in the rotation to keep his innings under control. He takes on the basement dwelling Orioles and looks to push the Jays to a 10-0 season series edge. You have got to feel for the Orioles, in a year where people were predicting them to start their breakout with their young players it looks like they have taken a couple steps back. Morrow takes on Brad Bergesen, Last time out against the Jays he didn't fair so great going 6 innings giving up 4 runs and 9 hits while striking out 3. I'll take some more of that please.
For the lineup we are back to regularly scheduled programming with Lewis leading off and Wells in the cleanup spot. With Morrow on the mound Molina will take up his usual position behind the plate and bat 9th bumping up EE to the 8th position.
For the opposition it is worth noting that they got their leadoff hitter back in Brian Roberts who has just returned from a 4 month stint on the disable list for a variety of problems. Hopefully he takes a few games to get back up to speed because I would like to not have to deal with him on the basepaths.
Tune in after the jump for lineups and series info.
Keep it Civilk and Go Jays Go

Pat and Buck continue the twinnin'
Also the commercials for this game amused me greatly, as they hyped up the 80s night and then said as a side note “Oh, and the Jays play the Os”, like an after thought. Hilarious.
Ball.
the espn radio guy who reported has said maybe Gregg and Frasor, but it seems
like he’s completely guessing at that
Does anyone else have a weird buzzing on Rogers Sportsnet
Life as a Toronto Sports Fan?... *sigh*... It is what it is...
Actually I do.
It’s annoying as hell

Seriously
I turned on the TV 10 minutes ago, and I can’t take the buzzing anymore

It's sad but true
I hope Hill hits into a run scoring double play

I feel like Wells could have been running earlier on that one..
hopefully Hill will make it not matter…
I like tonights start nice hit Hill

He lined it back up the middle
so he was on the ball. Thats all you can ask for from a struggling player.
HEADING STRAIGHT FOR THEM, I PRESS DOWN MAH GUNS!
Promotional days with 12,000 people in the stands is just sad

Yeah, not like there's any free stuff
and the die hards that would have gone anyway would be the only ones who knew Barfield and co.
Ball.
good big league ice cream
interesting. But it gave him some gas so I dunno if its all that good.
HEADING STRAIGHT FOR THEM, I PRESS DOWN MAH GUNS!
Of course with these Orioles you never know if it’s good pitching. They could make Towers look like a great pitcher. ;)
Come on Molina, you could have beaten that out!
Just think of the mocking Bengie will give you
Ball.
He said it hit him, but the swung through so he doens't get the pass
HEADING STRAIGHT FOR THEM, I PRESS DOWN MAH GUNS!
I think that what motivates are pitchers to give 120% is that they're quite sure that the run support will be meagre...

Toronto Maple Leafs: Nowhere to go but up!
I need to start showing up to game threads late more often, apparently...
Evenin’, fellas.
"A baseball park is the one place where a man's wife doesn't mind his getting excited over somebody else's curves."
They had a fever...
…and the only cure was the Orioles.

Roids take longer time than that to start working
It’s more like they finally had hemroids removed….
Gameday showed *In play - Runs* for a second when Aaron came up
would have been cool.

Ok has anyone here been to the Camden Chat today
Go and read at the top of the page under the add banner. a header like that could make a saint depressed.
Agreed.
"A baseball park is the one place where a man's wife doesn't mind his getting excited over somebody else's curves."
you could tell watching his first few games, even though he wasn't getting results
that he was something special
Frankly I was rather disappointed in April
not anymore
trouble is focusing on results instead of how it is happening.
Jays and Cito deserve credit for knowing what was happening
It is, shows they are smarter than us fans.
We were told over and over here that he would never be a starter. Proves that they know more than us.
To be fair, They were in win now mode
while the Jays under AA took the “we can afford to be patient” approach
And look where that got them.
"A baseball park is the one place where a man's wife doesn't mind his getting excited over somebody else's curves."
I'm not saying it was a good idea
I was trying to be diplomatic
I know what you you meant...
I was just saying…it’s ironic.

They like League
And that Brandon is having a good seasonfor them so far (better than 2009)
whilst i am a fan
he needs a lot more control to become a true ace. he still has many innings where it looks like he is incapable of throwing a strike on command.
Onions Baby Onions
There are degrees
Wildly effective
Wildly out of control
Wild like AJ
from good to bad
OT: Dairy Queen
Y’all have those in Toronto? Man, now I really need to go to Canada.
That's almost as cool as this game
6 run lead and 80s throwback style. I’m liking it.

4th in the AL East
That’s practically a leader, or at least 2nd place, in any other division.
its just that the divisions arent going to be balanced for years
selig is such a d-bag

Agreed
Where would they go, though? I’d like to see the Jays in the AL Central, but that’d put 6 in that division and 4 in the East. If I really wanted to crush the dreams of fans, but make it work geographically, I’d also move Pittsburgh from the NL Central to the AL East.
can we move any of the AL central teams to the AL west? My US geography isn’t great. Really though, they should just eliminate divisions, and balance the schedule
Kansas City
The Royals would be the only ones that would be far enough west geographically, but time zone wise Chicago could also change. Since the two leagues aren’t even technically separate any more (league offices went away in 2000, it’s all under the Office of the Commissioner of Baseball), MLB could make a lot more changes than the current division system allows if they would consider it.
Welcome to Toronto, Yunel!
I like your hitting streak since the trade. Keep it up, kiddo.
Fernandez just completely ignored Buck's question
and started talking about what he had actually prepared.. awesome
This! Is!! Rogers Centre!!!!!!!

been a while since he threw....
would like Cito to get the guys working regular…but that’s not going to happen
This is why I don't like Janssen
Despite his higher K rate this year he is way too hittable.
If we are planning to trade one or more of Frasor, Downs, or Gregg we best see if Purcey can do the job…
As a Toronto sports fan I proudly follow the lessons of lachrymology.
I don't understand people getting out of sort for random milestones
records I get.. but 600 HRs.. does it really matter?
I guess...
…but he wasn’t the lead runner.
