Nestor Molina?
Why hasn’t he been converted to catcher yet?

No video
I was able to get the ball though. I was on my way out when he hit it. It went about 370 feet before smashing into the right field scoreboard/videoboard.

Get it signed and post a pic of the signed ball on his Wikipedia article :-)

Going to see if he wants it first
And if he doesn’t then I will.

his signature
Is sooo long. I have a bunch of signed balls/pictures and he takes 4-5x longer than anyone else to sign his name. It looks like a mini sentence. We joke that he writes "My name is Adeiny Hechavarria and I am (insert random action here).

also
i’m in NH this weekend to visit grandparents… was hoping to catch a game. damn schedule makers.
Prehistoric Hoops - We're back! And we have a real domain!
Hechavarria passes Jose Iglesias, the Sox own Cuban SS, in HR, AVG, SLG, OPS, RsBI, not to mention some defensive stuff. Eat it you chowda munchers.
Also I’m liking what I’m seeing from the outfield trio in GCL, Ramirez, Marisnick and Crouse are all having good seasons.
Yea, Hech has really turned it on since moving up to AA after pretty disappointing Single A numbers………….good for him/us

Well...
Iglesias hasn’t played in like 2 months. He only took BP today for the first time since May I believe.

Hech is ripping so much ass ryte nao
Pretty geeked up to see Hech and Iglesias — 2 of Cuba’s most wanted — square off 18 times a year over the next decade or so.

let’s not get ahead of ourselves here. He’s still not walking and we do have strong evidence to suggest that hitters who don’t walk get eaten alive by major league pitchers. Also, this is just the one home run, doesn’t mean he will actually hit for power.
well
They will both make the majors if not to justify their large contracts. Also he hasn’t been thrown the pitches to walk. He has been batting in front of Snider/Bowman/Thames/Loewen for the past 3 weeks and before that it was Thames/Bowman/Loewen. They are throwing him strikes. Lots of strikes.

I kinda suspected that. If he does build up more of a reputation as someone who can drive a ball with authority then he’ll be pitched to more carefully. If he doesn’t hit for power or at least a lot of line drives he could also become Cesar Izturis. Regardless, it’s too early to either panic or celebrate.
I agree
But it is hard to not get excited. Hitting well is always better than hitting poorly.
Yeah, especially given his defensive prowess, first pro season, circumstances being away from home, etc, etc.
