Mike Jacobs for a player to be named later - Most likely just AAA filler for Wallace being gone, He has spent pretty much all the year on the Mets AAA. Can't hit well anymore and Can't really field well. Although I suppose he could back up Lind or whoever at 1st if Overbay is traded.

Yep pretty much. Unless they find a way to trade Overbay then he becomes a backup/filler

BRETT WALLACE WHO?

Gotta play 'em, might as well win 'em.

Hits RHP

At one time he was highly regarded. He still has a major league career OPS of .828 vs RHP. After what we have seen from Bautista, Buck, Lewis, Gonzalez, Molina, Escobar, who knows?

I heard Ahrens but its probably just someone guessing.

I doubt its anyone who will ever make the majors other than a bench player.

Ahrens is logical

He’s a player has (literally) taken a step back this year. He’s been passed by on the Jays depth chart and so is expendable. For the Mets, they would be gambling that a change of scenery can bet him back to being a valued prospect.

Both teams are trading something that doesn’t have great value for them. Jays are getting a AAAA player to fill in at Vegas (most likely because they don’t have someone they feel good about promoting right now) while the Mets are getting a former decently-ranked prospect who’s really struggling this year.

Check His Numbers in Buffalo

Jacobs isn’t that much of a stiff. He led the Bisons in Games played, AB’s, Runs, Hits, Triples, Doubles, Total Basesand BB’s. He was second in HR’s and RBI’s.; but he did lead them in errors (11). I’m sure his numbers will increase to Wallace type #’s in Vegas.

Hmm, sounds a bit like a faster Randy Ruiz to me.

He did hit 32 for FLA 2 years ago

He could be a solid hitting 1b in our linup but for now i’d rather have Overbay’s deffence.

Factoid from his Wikipedia Page

Contrary to popular belief, Jacobs is not Jewish. This small detail was apparently not known to the Marlins when, on May 28, 2006, as part of the team’s Jewish Heritage Day promotion, they gave Jacobs t-shirts to young fans who attended the game

He was decent in Florida before moving to KC. Sounds like a low risk, high reward move.

more like a low risk, low reward move.

At best he can hit righties with some pop… nothing else.
