Why does Martinez use the word consistent instead of good or something.

In the last 15 games, Lind has been consistent. Maybe he was consistent before that…just bad

Their lineup is actaully very top heavy

The bottom third of the order is basically AAA guys right now. Of course that doesn’t really matter when you have ARod, Teixeira, Jeter, etc but still. I’d say the Jays lineup is more consistent top to bottom.

Not trying to say that. But there was a different feel about the team with him here. Not that it is a bad thing.
Romero said something about it in an interview that with Marcum at the top and he is a bit of a goofball it lets them have fun more. Obviously its not all play, but with Doc they said especially with a loss it was like a funeral in the clubhouse

if they aren't going to try to compete int he next two years, they pretty much have to

except that it would be dumb, considering how well this squad is playing without Halladay and without any moves that were intended to win any games, to keep wasting years of cost-controlled pitching.

Konerko, Pena, Berkman, Dunn, Huff, and Lee would all be preferable to Overbay

And Pujols won’t be a free agent—the Cards would be insane not to pick up that option.

Alex Gonzalez, SS ATL
News: Braves SS Alex Gonzalez was taken to a local hospital on Friday morning to be treated for gastritis, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. He was not in the lineup for Friday’s game against the Reds but hopes to play either on Saturday or Sunday. "It’s better now, but I can’t go tonight," he said. "Got to wait." Gonzalez, who has been treated for gastritis before, said that he felt a pinching sensation and burning discomfort in his stomach, which prompted Braves’ trainer Jeff Porterto drive him to a hospital.
