Jays Put David Purcey on the DL, call up Jesse Carlson
David Purcey's move is retroactive to August 12th when he hurt his foot covering first base.
Jesse Carlson has a 4.24 ERA in 51 innings with the 51's.
I'm glad to see Jesse back, he's been a favorite of mine since he first came to the Jays and last year's brawl with the Yankees didn't exactly hurt his favored status in my mind. Hopefully Purcey will be back as soon as his DL time is up.

Too bad about Purcey. Looks like he finally found a place in the big leagues and could have been closer material in the future. It isn’t easy to build trust in your coach as a relief pitcher, especially when that coach is Cito. Somehow Purcey overcame those odds and started to get some meaningful outings. Hopefully it is just the 15 days.
On the flip side, I am glad to see Carlson back, hopefully it is Tallet that gets the boot when Purcey comes back, we need Carlson for the next Yankee series. We also could use him against the Red Sox to teach them a lesson about whining all the time, there comes a point when it just kills the flow of the game.
so he's due to come off on the 30th
which means someone will get “sent down” for a day.
