My worries about Big Papi
Is that 2011 represents the apex of his dead cat bounce. Worryingly, Big Papi took some time to warm up this year, but on the positive side, he had a good season overall.
I think he might be worth a 1 or 2 year contract. I’d be really concerned about a 3 year deal.
definitely agree on the length
I think 2 years from now we’ll definitely be regretting the contract. the window of benefit he brings over another FA or moving Bautista might not be very big. Bautista will probably have to move in a couple years; his defense is already not very good and if we could get him to be our Encarnacion that would free up RF/LF for a big bat
