AL Gold Glove Winners
Here are the AL Gold Glove winners:
C: Matt Wieters, Orioles
1B: Adrian Gonzalez, Red Sox
2B: Dustin Pedroia, Red Sox
3B: Adrian Beltre, Rangers
SS: Erick Aybar, Angels
LF: Alex Gordon, Royals
CF: Jacoby Ellsbury, Red Sox
RF: Nick Markakis, Orioles
A little heavy on the Red Sox. I want to complain about Erick Aybar but I'm just happy they didn't pick Jeter, so I can't complain too much. Nick Markakis seems like a bit of a stretch too. Other than that, it seems like one of the better years for the Gold Glove voters.
What do you think?

Aybar doesn't strike me as an awful choice
what does strike me as an awful choice is neither Escobar even making it as finalists

Because Cabrera has more RBIs

+1 to all of it lmao
Don’t watch enough Royals games personally.
A day that will live in infamy: August 4th, 2011, Sept. 28, 2011 wasn't bad either.
7 members waiting for Aaron Hill's return...
He led all LFs in assists, I think
I guess that was there consideration, that and he probably made very few errors. They use the old defensive metrics for Gold Gloves so fielding percentage and assists would factor heavily in the decision. Gordon actually was good defensively this year, just not as good as Brett Gardner.

Im just happy Jeter didn't win
hopefully we’ll see Hech and Gose winning Gold Gloves in the near future

Total rip off.
I think you'll find I'm universally recognised as a mature and responsible adult.
Twitter is the thing with all the tweets...
He won the Gold Glove for AL DH.
They just forgot to announce it.
Clear eyes, full hearts, can't lose.
Well
Palmeiro won it in 1999.

You should have seen his range at DH.

Yea he can go from one end of the dugout to the other—sometimes he dives down into the clubhouse too!

This actually happened?
He was a DH and played 28 games at first?
Uhhhh…
.313/.400/.565
Overall, not a bad list
The infield is fine, Aybar is probably the only question mark but still an ok choice. Didnt watch alot of Alex Gordon but gotta think Gardner is a better LF and for CF i’ll probably go with Bourjos and some other before Jacoby.
Atleast this year there isnt such glaring wrong like picking Jeter

They saved that for the National League by picking Ethier for RF
Hic sunt fortuna dracones
But he had a 1.000 fielding percentage that is amazzzing
But honestly I go over to the ESPN MLB Stats page and look at fielding for right fielders, guess who are the only two with 1.000 fp Eithier and Markakis, guess who won the GG Eithier and Markakis, seriously why?

At least Markakis has a history of being a good fielder (although not as good this year)
Ethier doesn’t even have that. Gold Gloves are notorious for going off fp, it’s why Jeter has so many, he doesn’t make many errors. Of course, it’s easy not to make errors on balls you can’t get to.
Hic sunt fortuna dracones
Vernon Wells had a higher Fielding Percentage than Gardner
And you guys are pulling for Gardner, absolute nonsense
