Prospect Watch: 8th of April
Three games were played, as the Lansing game was postponed. All other teams lost pretty heavily.
The Vegas 51s' (lost 1-11) most important players:
Mastroianni: groundout(error), strikeout (swinging), groundball single, walk
Lawrie: groundout, strikeout (swinging), line drive single, groundout
Thames: strikeout (looking), groundout, flyout (sac fly), groundball single

Cooper: line drive single, flyout, strikeout (swinging), line drive single
Jeroloman: strikeout (swinging), walk, groundout, flyout
Also of note: Brad Mills went 7 innings, K'ing 7 and walking none. Gave up just 1 earned. Roenicke gave up 4 runs without recording an out: 3 walks and a HBP. Cordero gave up 4 runs in 1 inning on 2 hits (one a grand slam) and 2 walks.
The New Hampshire Fisher Cats' (lost 1-5) most important players:
Zach Stewart: 3 walks, 1 hit by pitch and just 2 strikeouts in 5.1 IP. 9 groundballs, 8 flyballs, 3 line drives given up, 4 earned runs on 7 hits. Not a good start by any means.
Gose: strikeout (swinging), line drive single, groundout, catcher interference
Hechavarria: popout, flyout, groundout, strikeout (swinging)
d'Arnaud: lineout, flyout, groundout, strikeout (swinging)
McDade: line drive single, strikeout (swinging), flyout, line drive single
Sierra: line drive single, lineout, groundout (error), lineout
Tolisano: strikeout (swinging), walk, lineout, groundout
Carreno: 1 walk, 1 hbp and 2 strikeouts in 2 IP. 3 groundballs, 2 flyballs. no earned runs given up on one hit.
Farina: no walks, 3 strikeouts, 1 line drive double, no runs scored.
Also of note: Gose stole two bases, one of them was stolen even though they got him picked off (source: GoFisherCats twitter page).
The Dunedin Blue Jays' (lost 1-10) most important players:
Deck McGuire: 1 walk, 1 hbp and 5 strikeouts in 4 IP (in relief). 2 groundballs, 8 flyballs, 1 line drives. Strikeouts are good but flyballs are bad, just one start though, and this was his first pro start! Go Deck!
A.J. Jimenez: lineout, groundout, groundout
Also of note: Sean Ochinko opened his season going 2-for-4 with a line drive base hit and a flyball double.
Disclaimer: yes, I know it's pretty subjective who one considers "most important". In my opinion I've got our most important prospects listed here. Dunedin is pretty barren, but Lansing has some exciting position players like Perez, Marisnick, Crouse..

Just a tip for future reference, For people who like to quick scan it would be good to put in the numbers as well (i.E 0-4, 1-3 etc etc) and then put in the specifics. When its spelled out this way peoples eyes tend to gloss over
I think you'll find I'm universally recognised as a mature and responsible adult.

Couple thing I noticed that didn’t make the review…
Lawrie: Also had a fielding error
Dunedin: Marrow and Francisco appeared as part of their rehab… both got hit pretty good (but then we wouldn’t expect them to be throwing hard)
Gose: Two steals.
the steals are up there, and since I labeled it prospect watch I thought I shouldn’t include Morrow and Francisco since they’re not prospects by any means.
The errors I might add next time, although I don’t think errors tell you a lot about a guy’s fielding (those with great range will have the opportunity to make more errors since they get to more balls).
