Some questions

1. Does the Jay's more aggressive style of play lead to an increased number of injuries?

Along with most people here, I wasn't a big fan of Cito's managerial decisions but I also believe that his managerial style and patience resulted in less injuries. It wouldn't take very many extra injuries to conteract the benefit gained from a more aggressive running game.

2. Do you think EE and Snider's weight loss has contributed to a decrease in power?

They weren't exactly fat before, so part of the weight loss is likely muscle. Perhaps it is like taking a performance decreasing drug.

3. Was it fair to EE to spend almost the entire spring training at 1st base and then be moved to third?

He wasn't exactly a gold glove candidate before this year, but missing spring training reps at 3rd couldn't have done much good either.

4. Would you ever trade a Jedi?

Obviously the Jays wouldn't trade him for Robinson Diaz and they would trade him for Justin Upton and a huge prospect package. So maybe the question would be better phrased as "What would it take to trade a Jedi?"

If the Jays are out of contention at the trade deadline and they were offered a package with 4 or more Brett Lawrie/Kyle Drabek type prospects would that make sense? Bautista probably only has 2 or 3 years left at this performance level and a trade could set the Jays up very well for the future. Having said that, Bautista may also age well because he has a smaller body type and he hasn't accumulated a lot of wear and tear on his body because he was a utitilty player for so long.

5. If Bautista maintains this performance level, how much money do you think his contract saved the Jays (cost Luke Skywalker)?

After this season the Jays owe about $50-55M to Jose. As a free agent he could have gotten at least $100M. So maybe they will have saved $50M?
