Minor League Recap: Cecil has a good start, Diaz hits slam.

Las Vegas (won 14-3):

Brett Lawrie: 2-for-6, home run, double, 3 strikeouts. .341/.381/.571, 5 BB to 27 SO.

Travis Snider: 2-for-5, double, strikeout. .500/.606/.615, 6 BB to 3 SO.

Eric Thames: 1-for-4, walk. .333/.417/.535, 10 BB to 22 SO

Chris Woodward: 3-for-5, double, walk. .338/.381/.545, still putting Lawrie's and Thames's line in perspective, huh, Chris?

Jonathan Diaz: 4-for-5, grand slam(!), double. .286/.436/.405, 12 BB to 11 SO, nice way to hit your first homer of the year...

Brett Cecil: 6 IP, 1 ER, 2 BB, 6 SO, just 3 of 16 balls in play on the ground though (18.75%). Got more popups (4) than grounders.

Star-divide

New Hampshire (won 7-3):

Anthony Gose: 2-for-3, triple, walk. .238/.313/.297, 10 BB to 20 SO. Signs of life from Gose!

Darin Mastroianni: 2-for-4, home run. .235/.316/.471 in 4 games.

John Tolisano: 1-for-3, double, walk, strikeout. .226/.333/.339, 10 BB to 18 SO, half of his hits have been doubles.

Joel Carreno took a no-hitter into the sixth, but was then pulled after consecutive doubles and two walks. 5.1 IP, 3 ER, 5 BB, 8 SO, 33.3% groundballs.

Dunedin (won 2-1):

Aaron Hill: 0-for-3, walk. Taken out after his 4th plate appearance for a pinch runner.

A.J. Jimenez: 1-for-3, double, walk, strikeout. .344/.384/.505, 6 BB to 21 SO.

Kevin Nolan: 0-for-2, 2 walks. .290/.436/.419, 8 BB to 10 SO in very limited at bats.

Chad Jenkins: 5 IP, 1 ER, 0 BB, 3 SO, 66.7% (10 of 15) groundballs.

Lansing (lost 0-2):

Carlos Perez: 1-for-3, walk, strikeout. .281/.350/.382, 10 BB to 16 SO.

Marcus Knecht: 1-for-4. .273/.360/.439, 7 BB to 18 SO. Only Lugnuts hitter who didn't strike out yesterday, and that after he was striking out a ton in his previous games.

Misaul Diaz: 5 IP, 2 ER, 3 BB, 4 SO.

Sean Nolin: 3 IP, 0 ER, 1 BB, 3 SO. Might take over from Diaz as starter soon: Nolin has a 0.71 ERA in 12.2 IP, with 1 BB to 12 SO. Pretty big lefty at 6'5, 21 years old.

I think one more season from Johnny Mac and then get him into coaching somewhere in the system. New Hampshire’s not far from his home.
