his peripherals this season are eerily similar to last year
2010: 8.3 k/9, 2.3 bb/9, 41% gb-rate
2011: 8.4 k/9, 2.3 bb/9, 46% gb-rate
the gb-rate is better this season and the k-rate is a bit better, too (not because of a .1 difference per nine, but because fewer hits are going into play, which means he has to strike out more batters to get the same number of strikeouts per inning)

Very simple. Much simpler than some of the other major sports. Significantly simpler to learn than football, for example. The NFL/CFL have way more “technicality” rules and fouls than rugby.
