Roy Halladay's Future After Philadelphia?
Arguably the greatest Blue Jays player of all time, Roy Halladay is currently signed with Philadelphia through 2014 including his vesting option. What do you think will happen after that?
So Roy Halladay has always been my favorite baseball player. I grew up watching him play for Toronto and would probably sell my soul for him to finish his career here. One of the main problems with this wish is his age. If Halladay returned for the 2015 season he would be turning 38 in May, not unheard of for a good starter but still up there. Also, even if he decided to continue playing after 2014 its not like we would be the only team wanting to sign him, especially if his numbers stayed anywhere near where they are now. The main competition would presumably be from the Phillies. Give me your input on the subject.

I'm sorry but I have to write about one of my pet peeves
“Resign” means to quit, for example, a job.
“Re-sign” means to agree again to a contract or agreement.
In any case I think it’s way too early to speculate but I have a feeling that he will test out free agency. But you never know, maybe he’ll end up somewhere else—it’s not a given that the Phillies would still be a contender in 2014, 2015.

CHEER FOR THE PHILLIES
I only see Roy in a blue jay uniform in the future, if two things occur in the next year. One is the Phillies must win it all, and two is to have an awful first half in 2012. Then maybe their sellers at trade deadline, and with Roy controlling where he goes, if we’re in the hunt, AA could get him back.
I really hope Philadelphia wins it all
He deserves it for all that hes done. I’m also pulling for Arizona just because of J-Mac, that’d be a great way for him to go out. And then Milwaukee has Marcum so odds are that one of them will make it to the World Series.
What, no love for Wells and the Angels winning it all?
Seriously, I like your take on those guys achieving something elsewhere after they all left on good terms with the Jays……reminds me of when the Jays let Cecil Fielder go to flourish in Japan because he was blocked at 1B.
Jays are one of the classiest orgs so even if Doc doesn’t come back, it wouldn’t surprise me if he wanted to be inducted as a Blue Jay, ala Alomar :)

If the Angels made the playoffs that'd be great
but for now I’m just begging for the Red Sox to get knocked out whether its the Rays or the Angels
too bad the Jays are beating on tampa

Agreed.
It’d be hard to picture Halladay going into the hall without a Jay on his cap.

No, it depends on which team he's most "associated" with.
If he only plays three years with the Phillies, he’ll almost certainly go in to the hall as a Jay, regardless of how much success he has there. If he plays, oh say, six+ years with the Phillies, and continues to dominate, then he’ll probably go in with a ‘P’ on his cap.

He wanted to go to a contender
There’s a difference between the two and I can’t blame him for wanting to win a championship.
