Its probably crazy talk, but I'd assume we would trade one of our young guys.

True. I think they both need a full year to be given a real chance.

Maybe we should already trade one of them to give the other a real shot.
Anyway, I wonder if AA will talk contract with Cespedes at all.

Prefer Soler. Cespedes would be a waste of money if the Jays signed him.

Why would the Jays spend that kind of money on a 26 year old when they have three players who are younger (Rasmus in CF and Thames and Snider in left) ? I don’t see Cespedes being better than any of them so I don’t see a position for him to play.

The Cuban league might be only High A in caliber. Certainly, going 5-35 with no walks in the winter league hasn’t helped his case.

He did destroy Cuban baseball for like the last 4 years though. I’m very interested to see what happens. It is hard to predict how good he will be.

He is gonna be good

Baseball America’s Jim Callis said he would rank Cespedes in the 7-15 range of their top 100 prospects list, and that he would take over as the top prospect of pretty much any team that signs him.
