MLB Trade Rumors (.com) is reporting that the Royals are willing to take a listen on a lot of their players. In the same piece, we are apparently shopping our catchers. I think this could be the final piece of the puzzle for us. Anybody with a great appreciation for our minor league system (I know all the players, but hardly how other teams with value them) is going to be needed if we're going to craft something fair.



First off, the link points to the Royals listening on Hosmer (No Interest), Moustakas (No Room), Gordon (Room and Interest), Billy Butler (Perfect Fit and Interest), and Wil Myers (Room and Great Interest.

Moustakas is the easiest to count out. We don't have room anywhere to put him really, and he's coming off a down year.

Hosmer we have space for, but he's not hitting as he should and would cost tonnes.

Alex Gordon would be great, he could back up the corner OFers, give Lawrie a day off, and cycle through the DH rotation. Still, probably would cost too much.

It's Butler and Myers that are the focus here. We have space at 1B especially if Lind or Cooper goes. Myers should be able to play CF, while having more potential than Rasmus. The need is there.

Butler is signed through 2015, and Myers has years of team control.

I'm starting a Butler and Myers trade coming our way, with: Lind, Arencibia, Rasmus, one of Iztures or Emilo, and two top level prospects.

Obviously, there's lots more that needs to be done to make that workable, so what do you guys think
