Bluebird Banter, Make Recs blue!

Inspired by the extension for pensionplanpuppets.com, the Toronto Maple Leafs sbnation site, where rec'd comments turn blue with a little Maple Leafs logo replacing the thumbs up, I have created an extension for this site to do the same, except with a little Jays logo replacing the thumbs up. Thanks to user Redonred 's comment in this thread, for inspiring me to make the extension.

You’ll need to install stylish to enable it:

It grows on you. The real selling point for me on PPP was the little logo instead of just the thumb.

The background colour is a gradient, that’s why it fades, which means rainbow is possible, but would probably be a real pain to create. If you’re really serious about it, I can give the rainbow rec’ing a shot.

Here's a how to make one in whatever colour you want

1. Open up the stylish options menu (right click the stylish icon > options in chrome, firefox > addons > user styles in firefox)
2. You’ll be taken to a page that lists all your installed styles, click on the edit button under Bluebird Banter – Recs go blue
3. In the code box, scroll down until you see this

4. Replace the chunk from part 3 with this, replacing my filler text inside the brackets with the address of the new background fill
background:url(“Inside the quotes give the url of the new background colour or image you want”) repeat-x scroll 0 0 #e1eeff !important;
5. Click save and admire your handy work.

I suggest that you copy the entire code of the userstyle into a text editor like word or notepad so that if you don’t like the new look you can just put the whole thing back to the way it was.

Bonus: http://cdn7.fotosearch.com/bthumb/CSV/CSV001/k2110847.jpg is a rainbow gradient that works fairly well, but if you find a better one then use it by all means.
The image will copy side by side if it isn’t wide enough (approx. 600 pixels wide) so make sure that the image you choose is either wide enough or copies side by side nicely.
