Minor League Recap, Games of July 18: Travis Snider Hits 2 Home Runs

I'm not calling it the Travis Snider watch anymore, because I think the team has made it clear that he isn't coming up before September, if at all.

Vegas 51's Beat Fresno 11-6

  • Shawn Hill: 5.0, 9 its, 5 earned, 0 walks, 0 strikeouts, 1 HR, win. 4-0, 4.38. I figured that if he had one more good start. he went 15 innings with just 1 earned run in his last 2 starts, he'd be getting a call up. Maybe not now.
  • Evan Crawford: 1.0, 1 hit, 1 walk. 6.05.
  • Clint Everts: 2.0, 2 walks, 1 k. 2.77.
  • Joel Carreno: 1.0, 1 hit, 1 k. 9.55.
  • Mike McCoy: 3 for5, 2 doubles, k. .237/.359/.312.
  • Adeiny Hechavarria: 1 for 4, walk, k. .317/.365/.447.
  • David Cooper: 3 for 4, 2 doubles, walk. .279/.367/.484.
  • Travis Snider: 4 for 5, double, 2 hr, 6 RBI..332//.415/.550
  • Eric Thames: 2 for 5, 2 doubles, 2 k. .318/.401/.485.
  • Danny Perales: 3 for 4, triple. ..353

Both Yan Gomes and Moises Sierra were kept out of the game. I figured Gomes could be called up, but you never know.

New Hampshire Fisher Cats lost to New Britain 8-0. The game was called after 6 innings due to rain.

  • Deck McGuire: 5.0, 8 hits, 4 earned, 4 walks, 0 k. 4-10, 5.96. Another bad start for Deck.
  • The Fisher Cats only had 2 hits. Mick McDade had 1, going 1 for 3. .285/.363/.458.

Dunedin Blue Jays beat Fort Myers 4-1.

  • Egan Smith: 6.0, 3 hits, 2 walks, 6 k, win. 8-5, 3.17.
  • Dayton Marze: 2.0, 2 hits, 1 earned, 1 walk, 3 k. 3.23.
  • Alan Farina: 1.0, 1 walk, 1 k, save. 7.94 since coming back from Tommy John.
  • Kevin Pillar: 2 for 5, double. .250/.250.333 in 3 games at Dunedin. .322/.390/.451 at Lansing.
  • Ryan Schimpf: 2 for 5, double, k. .272/.354/.492.
  • Kevin Ahrens: 2 for 3, walk. .253/358/.340.
  • Marcus Knecht: 1 for 4, hr, k. .204/.296/.395. Things aren't improving .171/.216/.371 in his past 10 games.

Lansing was rained out.

Bluefield Blue Jays lost to Pinceton 6-5.

  • Daniel Norris: 4.0, 7 hits, 5 earned, 1 walk, 2 k. 4.87. Not having a great start t his season.
  • Art Charles: 1 for 5, 2 k. .224/.450/.526.
  • Matthew Dean: 2 for 4, triple. .216/.293/.365.
  • Jacob Anderson: 1 for 4, 2 k. .167/.277/.181.

Vancouver Canadians lost to Eugene 3-1.

  • Bobby Brosnahan: 5.1, 6 hits, 3 earned, 1 walk, 2 k, loss. 2-1, 3.72.
  • Marcus Stroman: 2.0, 1 hit, 3 k. 10.80. Much better than his first couple of appearances.
  • Kellen Sweeney: 1 for 4. .163/.283/.276.
  • Balbino Fuenmayor: 2 for 4, k. .292/.315/.450.
