If we're looking for a rent-a-player to take up the #5 slot in the rotation, how about this guy?
He doesn't have a big salary, so that shouldn't be a problem for the bean-counters in Rogers. He doesn't give up many home runs (always a plus at Rogers), and after last night his FIP is below 3.87. He's only had one bad start in his last eight games (forgivable, as it was in Toronto), and he should be happy to come to a contender close to his home.
The only downside is his injury history ... but I figure if he can get us 2 WAR more than Happ, it would be worth it, depending on what the Rays would want in return.
(Of course, the trolls will claim that he was only brought in because he's Canadian. Which is a ridiculous sentiment on a team with just one Canuck on its 40-man roster).
