Game 5 of 162: Tampa Bay at Toronto

Dan Waechter (0-0) vs. Ted Lilly (0-0). 1:07 PM EST start.

Last night's loss hurt. Vinnie Chulk and Pete Walker, the team's worst two pitchers (excluding Tallet, who will probably be sent to the minors soon enough), should never pitch in the same game. That loss should never have happened.

Tonight's Blue Jays lineup:

Adams
Catalanotto
Wells
Glaus
Overbay
Hillenbrand
Hinske
Zaun
Hill

Zaun is now healthy and was activated from the DL. As a result, Jason Phillips was removed from the 25-man roster and will have to clear waivers before playing in the minors. In his short time with the club, he had a game-winning hit, but I can't argue with the team's decision to carry only two catchers.

Tonight's Devil Rays lineup:

Crawford
Green
Gomes
Huff
Wigginton
Hollins
Paul
Perez
Gathright

This will be the third game in a row in which the Blue Jays' starter is left-handed. Chacin was effective, while Downs' performance was adequate. It's Ted Lilly's turn to prove he's worthy of staying in the rotation (not that I think his spot is in jeopardy, yet).
