Who's David Pauley, you ask? In ten starts, or 60.1 IP, he posted a 2-3 record with a 2.39 ERA. At almost 23 years of age, he's rather old for someone who's spent most of this season in AA. But, of course, that doesn't necessarily suggest he won't fare well in the majors. Since Craig Hansen and Jon Lester pitched recently, Pauley became the most viable in-house option for the Red Sox.
Last winter, Over the Monster ranked him as the 9th best prospect in the organization.
