Game 28 of 162: Angels at Blue Jays

Ervin Santana (2-0, 3.73 ERA) vs. Gustavo Chacin (4-1, 4.70). 7:07 PM EST start.

Last night's game notes on espn.com included the following:

Wells has reached base safely in all 27 Toronto games, tying Bret Boone (2003) and Victor Martinez (2006) for the longest streak to begin a season.

If he gets on base tonight against the Angels, he'll have the record all to himself.

Tonight's Blue Jays lineup:

Rios
Catalanotto
Wells
Glaus
Overbay
Hillenbrand
Molina
Adams
Hill

Tonight's Angels lineup:

Figgins
Cabrera
Anderson
Guerrero
Kendrick
Alfonzo
Molina
Murphy
Kennedy

John Gibbons wisely exiled Russ Adams and Aaron Hill to the bottom of the lineup. They've been dragging down what has otherwise been a great offense, and it would be most beneficial to grant them as few at-bats as possible.

Conversely, the placement of Orlando Cabrera in the number two spot will likely be detrimental to the Angels' offence. He's posted a .563 OPS against lefties this season, and even at his best he's not suited for that role.

Go Jays!
