6/13 Minor League Summary

The Jays' minor league affiliates had a good Friday the 13th going 5-1 on the night.

Syracuse 8, Pawtucket 4
Chad Mattola, JF Griffin, and Wade Lydon each had 2 hit nights. Mike Vento also hit a home run. Micheal MacDonald who's making a solid transition to AAA, went 6 strong with 2 ER and 4 Ks to get the Jay of the game.
The prospects: Thigpen was 1-4 but with 2 runs, Adam Lind was 0-4 with a walk but struck out 3 times, Adam was 0-4, League is pitching like he deserves to be called up going 1.1 IP with a K and his 4th scoreless outing in a row lowering his ERA to 3.00.

New Hampshire 6, Trenton 5
Another Blue Jay's affiliate ran into the rehabbing Phil Hughes and fortunately he was pulled early as he was cruising in his 3 IP with 6  Ks.
The F-cats were down 5-0 heading into the top 9th and put a 5-spot capped by off by a Robinzon Diaz home run. Yes he actually hit one out! Diaz had a 3 for 6 night and was the only F-cat to not strike out and takes the Jay of the Game. The winning run in the top of 10th was scored on David Smith's double. Cannon, Mayorson and Aaron Mathews also added two hits each.

Vero Beach 6, Dunedin 5
Cory Patton and Eric Neilsen had two hits each. These 24 year olds are hitting .294 and .300 respestively so I would say these guys need a promotion due to age but there seems to be too many outfielders too little space. Chris Gutierrez also had 2 singles to take 1/3 of the share of the Jays of the game. Unfortunately there weren't many  outstanding performances in this one.

Lansing 8, Wisconsin 6
Lansing games just aren't the same without Travis Snider in them. Canadian Jonathan Baksh went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double to take JotG. Yuber Rodriguez also had a great night going 3 for 4 and is putting together a mini-streak having hit safely 7 times in the last 3 games.

Auburn 11, Staten Island 3
Luis Perez started an pitched a scoreless 4.2IP with 7ks but his season so far has been hurt by his walks in which he walked 4 and has 14 in 25IP. I'll give him the JotG anyway.
JP Arencibia was 2-5 with two doubles and raised his batting average to a solid .279. Maybe he should be ahead of Ahrens and Fuenmayor?
Vasquez, Scobee and Rodriguez. Interesting stuff on Manuel Rodriguez he was a non-drafted free agent given up on by the Braves. He seems to do very well after repeating a level and while he won't have any prospect status and will probably top out at AA, he is hitting a fine .306.

GCL Jays 12, GCL Yankees 3
Justin Jackson went 2-6, Balbino Fuenmayor went 0-3 with 2Ks but did want 2 RBI. I still sometimes forget that he's still just 17. 18-year old Moises Sierra went 3-6 with a home run to get the JoTG. Jonathan Del Campo is currently hitting .333 and is only 19 as well though he is repeating it adds another bat into a crowded infield. Joel Carreno also pitched 5.1 IP with 2 unearned runs to earn the victory.
